Trace Nitrogen / Sulphur / Chlorine
The NEXIS Total Nitrogen / Sulphur / Chlorine analyser is a horizontal oriented combustion analyser with high modularity and advanced detectors to measure simultaneous trace level nitrogen/sulphur and separate chlorine concentrations in a wide range of liquids, solids and LPG/Gas sample types. The NEXIS TN/TS/TX analyser configuration detects these substances through a uniquely high effective NEX-Z combustion tube design that includes Ultra Violet Fluorescence (UVF), Chemiluminescence (CLD) and micro-coulometric (MCT) detectors. The NEXIS TN/TS/TX model is designed to facilitate high sample throughput by optional addition of the AS120 liquid autosampler that will support both syringe and boat introduction methods with high performance and reliability. This solution provides a fully automated trace level Total Nitrogen/Sulphur analyser, which can be extended with heated sample tray capability. For Gas and LPG samples the NEXIS TN/TS/TX analyser can be connected to a NEXIS GM module to facilitate these kind of samples with fast connectivity and ease of use operation through NEXIS LINK software. The main instrument is manufactured by TSHR, whilst the autosampler is manufactured by EST Analytical. Their website can be found here for further information.
The NEXIS VP Total Nitrogen/Sulphur Analyser is the most sensitive and reliable vertical combustion analyser to detect precisely, from ultra trace to high ppm level, total sulphur concentrations in an extensive range of liquids and LPG/Gas samples. The NEXIS VP model TN/TS analyser configuration detects simultaneously these substances through a uniquely high effective NEX-Z combustion tube design that includes a Ultra Violet Fluorescence (UVF) and Chemiluminescence (CLD) detectors. The NEXIS VP Total Nitrogen/Sulphur Analyser is designed to facilitate high sample throughput by the AS/120 liquid autosampler through syringe introduction methods with optional heated and cooled sample trays. For Gas and LPG samples the NEXIS VP TN/TS analyser can be connected to a NEXIS Gas Module (GM) to facilitate the safe and automated sampling and analysis process for these type of samples with fast connectivity and ease of use operation through NEXIS LINK software.

Other Combustion Elemental Products and Applications Information
The NEXIS eQP offers most of the advantages of the main NEXIS instrument, whilst offering the smallest bench space of any such product in the market with rapid analysis times.

Running a sample has never been easier or quicker, with an average analysis time of less than 4 minutes, the vertical combustion furnace design means that combustion is quick and efficient. This has the additional benefit of fewer hardware issues, which means less downtime and easier and less regular user maintenance.
The NEXIS TN Aqua is the first combustion elemental analyser produced by TSHR that is purpose-built for analysing Total Nitrogen content in aqueous samples.

Similar to the eQP, the Aqua has rapid analysis times (often less than 3 minutes). The Aqua has a unique feature; it can distinguish between nitrate and ammonia species with two discernible peaks.

This instrument is ideal for companies that are required to test their, or others', waste water and meets the requirements of ASTM D8083-16.
A note on ISO 8217: the 8th edition of ISO 8217 has now been published. In this new edition, data is published in light of new maritime regulations aimed at reducing use of fossil fuels and increasing use of FAMEs as an alternative. This standard is for distillate and bio-distillate fuels that must contain a Sulphur content of 0.50% or below. This also covers sediment testing and new regulations that require an organic halogen content (AOX), measured as chlorine, to be less than 50 mg/kg. The instruments above allow testing laboratories that analyse maritime fuels to meet these new standard requirements that are being adopted across the world.
